First Egg from the Backyard Chicks

LOOK! RONNIE LAID AN EGG!!!!!

I, personally, think it’s the finest egg ever laid. I think I shall enshrine it, so others can gaze upon it’s glory. HA! I couldn’t be prouder if I laid it MYSELF!

I knew this day was coming soon. But, she’s actually a little early. This breed starts laying at 20 weeks. My girls are 18 weeks and it’s over 90 degrees everyday, which I’ve heard really slows down the laying. I’ll report more later.

This IS exciting news! (We had a girl like Ronnie in the 5th grade).

Not so sure the shrine thing will work out.

Here’s to many more of those lovely brown-shelled things.

I know how those first eggs are exciting(to you and Ronnie).
And it is a fine egg!

We were very happy together (me and the egg), until Mr. Ivory and I had Asian eggs and kale for dinner. But, luckily, we’re getting about three eggs a day now, so the grief period was brief.
