A. The squirrels seem to like this first one in particular.
B. This one is very picturesque in a classic, toadstool sort of way.
C. This one is everywhere and is very persistent. The second photo is to show the underside.
D. This mushroom (underside shown second photo) may be the same as B., possibly, but this one is much more red. Maybe location or age might explain the difference? Or maybe it is another type.
Today was the day of the mushroom in my yard. I found a great reference tool for mushroom identification. According to what I read, the mushrooms one sees are the fruit of a much larger subterranean organism. Perhaps in another point in my life I will take the time to get a bit more botanical and be able to give a name to some of these organisms.
