I thought she was SICK. Then I looked up molting online and found out what was going on, though I disagree with her timing. It’s 32 outside!!!
Anyway, I don’t think the above pic really communicates the grossness of this event. So, let’s look closer.
She loses all her PRETTY feathers, and replaces them with all these tube-y pin feathers–just like she got after her pretty baby chick peach fuzz left. EWW. They’ll fill out shortly, but this has been going on for a couple of weeks now…
