I made these AGES ago, (to go with some baptism rosaries), but we’ve quite a few requests for the pattern, so I had to accost a previous recipient and ask to see it. Embarrassing!
This pattern uses afghan stitch, but I used a regular needle since the work is only 15 stitches wide. If you are unfamiliar with afghan stitch check out this site for pictorial instructions.

Rosary Pouch

E or F hook, worsted weight cotton

FOUNDATION CHAIN: Ch 15.
ROWS 1-25: Work Afghan Stitch for every row. You should have 15 lps on your hk after each row. Do not fasten off.
HANDLE: Chain 25 and secure to left top corner.
CROSS: Using a yarn needle and yellow bulky baby yarn, stitch cross on second row from top (row 24) and start on the 7th stitch from the left. That, or just center it as you see fit. (Picture below is clickable for larger image) Outline cross in pink bulky baby yarn.
FINISHING: Fold the bottom to the top, putting wrong sides together and stitch sides with yarn needle and your original yarn.

Fasten off. Weave in ends.
