I’ve never been one to stitch for my chicks, but my baby goat’s horn removal wounds looked like they could use a little cushioning.

So, here’s the most ridiculous pattern I’ve ever written:

Ivory’s Little Goat Bonnet

Lilly worsted weight, G needle

Bonnet:
Ch 10 and join in a circle with sl st.
Ch 20 and join last ten in a circle with a sl st.

It will look like this O———-O

Sc the middle 10 stitches back and forth for 10 rows.
Fasten off.

Chin strap:
Ch 5
Sc in the base of one ear loop.
Sc evenly down the short side.
Ch 5 and join to the ch 5 tail with a sl stitch, making a triangle.
Ch 15 and join to the base of the other ear loop.
Sc evenly down the short side.
Ch 5 and join to main ch 5 stitches down.
Fasten off.

In case that was bananas, here’s a pic:
Now, I suppose this contraption could be used for any animal in need of head gear, just the dimensions would need to be altered.

To wear, slip chin strap under first, pull up bonnet and position, pull ears through the loops. Waa-laa!

Ivory

P.S. Who on earth is ever going to use this pattern???? HAHAHAHAHA!
