And converting the hubby's is the hardest part. I *finally* got him on the deodorant. I don't think I'll ever find a toothpaste substitute that he'll use, though. I'm SF gardening for the first time this year and inadvertently put cukes in the middle of my bed. oops. this solution s just the trick I was looking for...cheap and easy. :) thanks! btw, I've got my hubby sold on the homemade laundry detergent. He was a diehard Tide user for all the years he's done laundry. Now, he's got three people at work making their own! I love it! The cucumbers take up less ground space, and it's easier to keep critters off them. By the way, I really enjoy your blog and your adventures in farming in the suburbs. I live in the middle of a city with a veggie garden that provides us with about 60% of our produce. We're working on improving that number. Oh, and our four chickens. I can relate to so many of your stories! And I love th recipes you share. I hadn't realized all of the bug repelling properties of different essential oils.
