I love that little barn! I don't have any backyard critters as I live in a subdivision that forbids any livestock. I do however compost all my fruit/vegetable peelings, egg shells and coffee grounds. I had the best tomato plants ever this year using my compost. Made a believer out of me!

Hysterical—you caught me off guard with your "barn!".
I think that a composting addiction is perfectly healty. If you find a support group for that, be sure and let me know.

LOVE the barn! If I had a barn like that, I'd have all the neighborhood kids fighting to be in there with the goats. The goats already fight the chickens for the coop. Such a silly bunch of animals! You all make me feel so wasteful for not scooping out the poo often enough! It could be half composted by now! Must send the hubby on that... :)

@Javalady--It is quite covet-able! And you can't put doggie poo in the compost pile. Anything that every eats meat is against the rules. It brings 'other' bacteria. When we had a dog, I just dug a big hole and filled it up with poo.

@Lorrwill--on the cuckoo scale? It might be...

@Kat--Thank you! It's my kids' cast-off.

@acv2--Thank you! The chickens have their own coop on the other side of the house. They use it if I toss them in the goat yard for fun, but at night, they prefer they're own house.

@Michelle--I don't shovel the chick poo. I feel so ashamed. WASTEFUL.

@Tanya Walton--TL does that too. She 'forgot' to return one of my recycling bins and now it's her horse poo hauler.

can we safely add dog poo to our compost ? one of our doggies has moved herself ''outdoors'' and will not come inside. That's fine, since she has a very nasty habit of going potty indoors. Yes, we did the whole crate and potty training on an adult rescued dog but to no avail. So now she has the whole acre back yard to do her poo in, but does she ? oh no. .. she leaves it right at the back door !!!!!!!! Ggggrrrr. So I am still scooping up dog poo !! This doggie may have to go back to the shelter, I am so sick of this. OR maybe I just should build her a dog-run like the chicken's pen ?? ROFL
