I love that you said, “A dirt”. I don’t know why but it made me laugh. Now…to go check out that Fall Garden Planner…I keep threatening to garden year-round…if I could just get a grip on the summer crops!!

Great post! Very inspirational! I have never had much luck with fall vegetable gardening, but I am going to give it another try.

Yahoo! Thank you very much. Just the other day, I found the Spring Garden Planner I’d printed out too late to do much good, and I was trying to figure out what I could do in the mean time :) Timely and much appreciated!

Yesterday we picked the first leaf lettuce, 5 tomatoes, 6 ripe cherry tomatoes, 9 unripe cherry tomatoes (the toddler did that), and a dozen green beans for lunch. I love it!

Thank you so much for putting these together. I printed out both…the Fall and the Spring (I know it was for 2009…but it will give me something to study over the winter!) and I will bind them when I get home. (I printed them at our office…) Anyway…just wanted to say thank you for taking the time and energy to plan these out and then to share them for FREE! I really appreciate it! Michelle

Where does everyone get their seeds/plants at this time of year?

I’m so glad everyone is ready for Fall planting! And as Michelle mentioned, the planner SAYS 2009, but you can of course use it any year. However, we’ll put out ones with the right year in case you want to keep your guides from year to year.

I get mine at the Farm Supply. They keep a turn thingy of seeds year round.

Hi Ivory,

Garlic ?………I am wondering when to plant…in earlier post you said to mark the frost date down. which I did..but it has not frosted here yet…do I wait? It is getting chilly
at nights in the 40′s. Where I ordered the garlic from, the insert does not state frost..but just to plant in October to allow the garlic to root…. Is there a reason why
we wait until the frost? Thanks

Faith

Faith–You will be fine planting now. Waiting until first frost is a good reminder/general guideline. Go ahead and dig!
