Ivory’s No Giveaway Picture Saga

My camera eats batteries like an addict.  So, I’m looking, looking, robbing the kids electric toys, our long-suffering TV remotes, my mini word processor…I can’t even remember where I finally found some, but I got it working.

THEN, I went to upload them.  NO cord.  Looking, looking, drawers, closets.  Found the CORD!!!!  Plug it in….wrong cord.  ARRRGH!  I tore apart the house looking for the right cord which I’m sure one of the “short people” snuck off with to use as a leash or a belt or heaven-knows-what.   Unfindable.  Fine.

NEXT, I called the hubby and asked him to bring home his fancy camera.  He did.  Then the sun went down, so clearly I had to wait for natural light in the morning.  Camera was apparently in his floorboard when he left at 6:30 AM.

SO at 7:45 this morning, I called MIL whose cord I *think* it is plugged into my computer.  “May I borrow your camera?”  Hurray!  Camera and cord ready?  Nope.  Cord doesn’t match her camera either.  WHOSE CAMERA CORD IS THIS?????

Anyway, I realize that one or both of the necessary upload cords is in my “random electronics” box garage, but an hour ago my door key got stuck in the front door lock so I can’t unlock the garage…and did I mention that we don’t have a remote?  Well, we did, but it died and universals don’t work on my type (said so on the boxes, but we tried three anyway) and the company no longer makes them.

So there you go…I may be trapped in my house, but I will have pictures by tomorrow, dang it, if I have to cut my way out of here with a spoon and walk all these cameras to Walgreens to get pics on CD!!!  (assuming my CD drive works, which I think it hasn’t since a short person stuffed it with dimes.)

Wish me luck!

You should look into getting a card reader and then you wouldn’t have to use a cord to get your pictures off of your camera. You can get a card reader for only a couple of dollars and many times when you buy new SD or compact flash cards they come with them free.

I think maybe fate is telling you that you should kick back and relax today and leave the pics for tomorrow…..or maybe fate just fancied a laugh at your expense so was being cruel…whatever it is…have a good day…the pics can wait and we’ll all come back!!
