Practically Green: Discard items, find new stuff at swap meet

Buying something used is better for the environment than buying new.

For example, if your friend has a cute sweater you like but she no longer wants, it makes more environmental sense for her to give it you than for it to go in the trash or for you to buy an identical one.

However, not all of us are inclined to dig through secondhand stores and go garage sale shopping every weekend.

The solution? Host a swap meet. You’ll save time, money and natural resources, and you’ll get to know your friends better.
