Practically Green: Suggested reading list for enriching summer break

One of my favorite things about this time of year is summer reading programs for children.

They pack into libraries and come out with stacks of books, reading hours at a time to earn novelty erasers and stickers.

But I’m often at a loss as to what to check out.  So for this summer, I cobbled together a green-themed summer reading list for my family and yours.

I am not a fan of overtly preachy books, so my favorite green books do one of three things:  foster a connection with nature, communicate the power of small positive actions, and/or promote the idea of  reduce-reuse-recycle as a daily part of life.
