I officially have TOO much closet space.  I even stuck the kids’ chest of drawers in there to take up some room.  The fun part is, the chest is EMPTY.  It’s ready to be filled with all that nonsense kids collect: gum wrappers, beads, string, little pieces of paper and tape, etc.

What you see is a Walmart shoe organizer.  On Saturday, I stuff it top to bottom with clothes for every day of the week, plus an extra set.  In the beginning, I had every day marked with sharpie, but as those clothes have gotten out grown, I find that I’m not marking anything.  I just wash all at once, and stuff it. Panties, panties, panties, shorts, shorts, shorts, shirt, shirt, shirt, etc. and everything else goes in a basket at the top of the closet.

After a few weeks of using this system for all the children, we found that boys clothes do not fit as well as girls.  Boy clothes in our house were more likely to be cargo shorts, denim shorts, or other shorts that were bulkier than girl shorts. Also, only the visual child is really good at this system.  The boys prefer having their stuff in the drawers.  They’re overwhelmed by it, I think.  However, it’s the best thing that ever happened to my daughter’s room!
