FarmsoftheFuturecover-210x300This is the book you need if you are thinking about farming: small-scale, large-scale, any scale.  It’s inspirational, but it doesn’t glorify anything.  It has the nuts and bolts information you need to know before diving into farm life, like figuring out the right market niche for you, ways to find land, including some ways you’ve probably never thought of, and finding the money and equipment.

It sells you on making a professional farm plan, doing things the right way, and getting serious about the business end of farming.

Plus, it’s full of helpful ideas and real-life stories from unique farmers that will help shape the choices you make about what type of farm will best suit you and your circumstances.

Even if farming is only ever a pipe dream for you, the case studies of innovative and varied farms in each chapter make it worth picking up this book.

If you’re already farming, or have stuck your toe into farming, I still recommend this book highly.  A lot of times we go into things following our hearts and hope our heads will catch up.  This would be a great way to help retool some of the less-than-business-like practices you may be chafing under and help get you on the right track.
