Frankly, there are about 385 million ways to make a basic cream cheese, but this is the one that I think is most accessible to the average W-mart shopper.
Easiest Cream Cheese
1. Buy a quart of plain, active culture, one ingredient yogurt. Even if it says ORGANIC, still check the back.
3. Gather and tie around spoon or other long object.
4. Suspend for 12 hours, allowing whey to drain. Check consistency. The longer the draining time, the firmer the cheese.
Thanks for the great tips! I’m trying this one tonight.

Can you make this using homemade yogurt recipes?
LOL I learned that that was how you make “Greek” yohgurt; you’re just not supposed to let it drain quite so long, if I remember correctly (haven’t done it in a while…). Now I at least know if I leave too long, I can still eat it! I love cream cheese. x3
Ok so I make my own homemade yogurt can I do this to that? Lol
I am so glad I found this site! I’ve searched for a lot of these tips and recipes and couldn’t find any that I could actually use. You have no idea how much you’ve helped me and my family out. Thank you so much!!!
