Who are you people?
We’re just two gals that garden, cook, build, soap, and raise smallstock in the ‘burbs.

How do you know each other?
We’ve been friends for over ten years and have similarly nice hubbies, naughty babies, and way too many pets.

Are you still normal moms?
I still send my kids to school with Capri-Sun, keep the A/C too cool to be eco, and let my kids watch WAY too much television. And T.L. has an affinity for boxed cereals and crackers that I just can’t understand. So we’re normal-esque. We just like our own creations better than most store-bought versions and generally swallow our tongues when we see how much people are paying for that stuff.

How do you find the time to do all this?
By neglecting our household responsibilities. Our laundry piles are gigantic! Seriously though, it doesn’t take near as much time as you think. Check out Why DIY? to find out more.

Why the nicknames?
Internet anonymity is a good thing. But Ivory is totally screwed there anyway since she has a children’s book coming out this fall and made her media debut here, here, here, and here cause she’s crazy and got a pet goat. T.L. has not chosen such flamboyantly public hobbies, so she gets to stay mysterious forever.
